Member contact lists, shared resources, and simple tools to keep our teaching community engaged.

PROFESSIONAL MUSIC TEACHERS OF NEW MEXICO
staying connected
October 17, 2025

Dear Colleagues,

The most valuable part of PMTNM, to me, is connectivity to other musicians. The member resources library is brand new. It is simply a platform for community strengthening — a tool to connect with others through our member directory, and to share whatever resources you might think valuable and that others could benefit from, whether it is a PDF or a trusted website.

This tool allows you to collect and share resources, generate lists, share PDFs with others, and even integrate ChatGPT for AI research. This tool will unfold and gain value with whatever we contribute. Like our community, it is what we all bring.

As you reflect on ways that you could benefit or share resources with others, take a moment to set up your profile and add your contact info and preferences to our online member list. Connect with others. Grow, and help others grow too.

Thank you for being a member of the PMTNM community - I look forward to meeting you!

Sincerely,

Stay Connected to Each Other

PMTNM members can connect through a comprehensive internal directory and share high‑quality teaching resources. Opt into the member directory to make your contact information available to colleagues, and use our sharing tools to publish helpful links, files, and curated lists for your studio and beyond.

Member Contact Lists

Find fellow teachers in the members‑only directory. Certified teachers appear by default; non‑NCTM members can opt‑in.

Resource Sharing

Publish and explore teaching materials. Share links, upload files, and curate lists for students and colleagues.

How Connectivity Works

  • Member Directory: Certified teachers are included automatically; non‑NCTM members can opt‑in via profile settings.
  • Public vs. Internal: Public listings display certified teachers, while the internal directory shows all opted‑in members.
  • Resource Sharing: Save links and files in Resources, then bundle them into shareable lists for events, classes, and colleagues.

Imagine and Build Together: Our Shared Resources Library

Remember the file cabinets and well‑worn binders? The bulletin‑board notes that led to a new piece, a technique trick, or a favorite edition? Our shared library brings that same spirit of generosity into a simple digital space—organized, trusted, and easy to contribute—so every teacher (and student) benefits from what we discover.

What you can share

  • PDFs: handouts, sight‑reading sheets, technique pages, recital programs.
  • Trusted URLs: IMSLP entries, composer sites, publisher pages, quality tutorials.
  • Resource Lists: group items for festivals, levels, or topics—share a single link.

Your AI assistant

Use ChatGPT to brainstorm repertoire sets, draft annotations, or summarize sources. Then save the best results as PDFs or vetted links so your colleagues can reuse them.
