Content Manager Terms of Use
Agreement to Terms
By accessing and using the PMTNM Content Manager CMS system, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Content Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please discontinue use of the Content Manager CMS.
Definitions
- "PMTNM," "we," "us," and "our": Refer to the Professional Music Teachers of New Mexico.
- "Content Manager CMS": The content management and publishing system provided by PMTNM.
- "Content Manager": An authorized PMTNM member granted access to the Content Manager CMS.
- "Project": A website or content collection created through the Content Manager CMS.
- "Content": All text, images, files, and materials uploaded to or published through the CMS.
Content Manager Eligibility
Requirements
To use the Content Manager CMS, you must:
- Be a current PMTNM member in good standing.
- Complete any required training or orientation.
- Accept the Content Manager Policy and these Terms of Use.
- Maintain compliance with PMTNM handbook standards.
Access Rights
Content Manager access includes:
- Creating and managing personal projects.
- Uploading content via FTP to designated directories.
- Deploying content to preview and production environments.
- Access to shared FTP credentials for content upload.
Content Ownership and Rights
Your Content
- You retain ownership of your original content and materials.
- You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to publish all uploaded content.
- You grant PMTNM a license to host, display, and distribute your content.
- You must respect copyright and intellectual property rights.
PMTNM Rights
- PMTNM reserves the right to review, modify, or remove content.
- PMTNM may archive content for organizational records.
- PMTNM maintains ownership of the CMS platform and infrastructure.
Content Standards and Guidelines
Permitted Content
The Content Manager CMS is intended for:
- Educational and informational content related to music education.
- PMTNM organizational and program information.
- Member resources and professional development materials.
- Community events and announcements.
Prohibited Content
You must not upload or publish:
- Commercial advertising or promotional materials.
- Content that violates PMTNM policies or handbook standards.
- Illegal, harmful, or inappropriate materials.
- Copyright-infringing content or materials.
- Malicious code, viruses, or executable files.
- Personal attacks, harassment, or discriminatory content.
FTP and Technical Requirements
FTP Access
- Use only the provided FTP credentials and directories.
- Do not share FTP credentials with unauthorized users.
- Upload only to your designated project directories.
- Follow file naming and organizational guidelines.
File Standards
- Upload only approved file types (HTML, CSS, JS, images).
- Ensure files meet size and security requirements.
- Test content thoroughly before deployment.
- Report technical issues promptly.
Publishing Process
Deployment Workflow
- Upload Content: Use FTP to upload files to your project directory.
- Deploy to Preview: Use the CMS to deploy content to the preview environment.
- Review Content: Test and review your content in the preview environment.
- Publish to Production: Deploy approved content to the live production site.
Content Review
- All content undergoes automatic security and policy review.
- PMTNM administrators may perform manual content review.
- Content may be removed if it violates policies or standards.
- You will be notified of any content removal or modification requests.
Privacy and Data Protection
Member Privacy
- Do not publish personal information without explicit consent.
- Respect member privacy preferences and data protection requirements.
- Follow PMTNM privacy policies in all content and communications.
Data Security
- Keep FTP credentials and access information confidential.
- Report any suspected security incidents immediately.
- Use secure file handling and transfer practices.
Account Termination
Termination Rights
PMTNM may terminate Content Manager access for:
- Violation of these terms or Content Manager Policy.
- Non-compliance with PMTNM membership requirements.
- Abuse of the CMS system or FTP access.
- Request by the content manager.
Effect of Termination
- Access to the Content Manager CMS will cease immediately.
- Published content may be removed or archived.
- FTP access will be revoked.
- Projects may be suspended or deleted.
Liability Limitations
Service Disclaimer
- The Content Manager CMS is provided "as is" and "as available."
- PMTNM does not guarantee uninterrupted access or error-free operation.
- Users assume all risks associated with CMS usage.
Limitation of Liability
- PMTNM is not responsible for indirect or consequential damages.
- Liability is limited to membership fees paid.
- Force majeure events are exempt from liability.
Changes to Terms
PMTNM reserves the right to update these Terms of Use. Significant changes will be communicated to content managers, and continued use of the CMS implies acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico and applicable federal laws. Disputes will be resolved under New Mexico jurisdiction.
