Student Benefit Concert for the UNM Children’s Hospital
Student Benefit Concert – How to Register Students
In a first for PMTNM, our students are invited to perform on a benefit concert for the UNM Children’s Hospital. This is a wonderful way for our association and students to give back to the community through the gift of music. First preference will be given to students of PMTNM members. Students from non-PMTNM teachers may be accepted as space allows. Please read the following rules carefully:
- Students may perform one piece, from memory, although instrumentalists who traditionally perform with music may do so.
- Pieces for piano solo, 1 piano-4 hands, instruments and voice are welcome (only one piano will be available).
- Pieces with a piano accompanying must be performed with a pianist.
- Pieces should be under five minutes although exceptions may be granted for advanced works.
- A donation of $25 to the UNM Children’s Hospital is required from all participants (the family donation for multiple students is also $25). Cash and checks will be accepted at the concert, and a QR code will available.
- The order of performers will be determined by the date entries are received, and a pleasing program order.
- If a large number of students are entered the concert may be split into multiple hour-long programs.
- Submission of an entry is confirmation that the student and parent/guardian agree that photos and/or videos may be taken during the concert and used by PMTNM and media outlets over the air, online, and in print.
- No microphones will be available.
Please submit the following information via email to lawrenceblind@gmail.com as soon as possible, but no later than October 29.
- Name of student(s), and accompanist (if any)
- Name of teacher
- Indicate if piece is for piano, voice, or name of instrument
- Complete title of piece with full composer name
- Approximate length of piece
Confirmations will be emailed back to teachers only.
